The project

The goal since the beginning has been to explore the potential of vocal polyphony, both a cappella and with the accompaniment of musical instruments. Precisely because of this characteristic, Una e Cinque has tackled various genres of a cappella music or with instrumental accompaniment: from the classic Renaissance, to Jazz, up to some unpublished pop music creations.

Collaborations

In the field of contemporary music, L’Una e Cinque has participated in various projects:

  • with composer Claudio Mantovani, performing the choral parts of “Pulchra Margarita”;
  • with composer Stefano Maccagno, for the piece “Libertà 1942” (poetry by P. Eluard);
  • with composer Andrea Ravizza, recording the original composition “Canzone Unica”;
  • performing the piece “Credo” by Latvian composer Uģis Prauliņš.

In 2005, in collaboration with Fausto Caporali (professor of Organ and Gregorian Chant at the Turin Conservatory), the ensemble participated in a series of Christmas Gregorian chant performances held in Reggio Emilia.

In the field of popular music, they have produced several original songs with instrumental accompaniment:

  • “C’era una volta il tè” (Marco Andrioletti, Gianluca Savia)
  • “La faccia del gatto” (Andrea Casamento).

L’Una e Cinque also created theme songs for animated series, written and produced by composer Mauro Bouvet for Lastrego e Testa of Turin.

In the theatrical domain, the ensemble collaborated with the Gruppo Artisti Associati Teatro San Filippo of Turin, contributing to various productions.
